Act | 'Act' means the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 |

Advisory Committee | 'advisory committee' means an advisory committee appointed under section 6 and includes an advisory sub-committee appointed under that section |

Authority | 'Authority' means the authority appointed under sub-section(1) of section 20 |

Board | 'Board' means the Advisory Board appointed under section 7: |

Chairman | 'Chairman' means the Advisory Board , the Committee or the Advisory Committee,as the case may be,appointed undersection 9 |

Committee | 'committee' means a Committee appointed under clause of sub-section (1) of section 5 and includes a sub-committee appointed under that section |

Day | 'day' means a period of twenty-four hours begining at midnight |

2(g) |
Form | 'form' means a form appended to these rules |

Inspector | 'Inspector' means a person appointed as Inspector under section 19 |

Registered Trade Union | 'registered trade union' means a trade union registered under the Indian Trade Unions Act, 1926 |

Section | 'section' means a section of the Act |

All Other Words and Expressions | All other words and expressions used herein and not defined shall have the meaning respectively assigned to them under the Act. |
