NOTES:
For all except security guards, power, steel, sponge iron, rolling mill,casting, cement plants.

- The proposed rates of minimum wages shall be wi thin the meaning of clause (111) of sub-section (1) of section-4 of the Minimum Wages Act,1948.
- Conversion of the monthly rates of wages into daily rates of wages and vice-versa shall be worked out by dividing the mon thly rates by 26 and multiplying the daily rates by 26.
- The proposed rates of Minimum Wages above include the remunerationpayabl e to the employees in respect of the day of res t in every period of seven days.
- If any employee/workmen is receiving higher rates of wages over and above the minimum wages, shall continued to be paid such higher rates of Wages and increased variable dearness allowance (VDA) from time to time.
-Men and Women workers shall get the same rates of wages for the work of a similar nature .

CATEGORIES:
(a) "Unskilled work" means work which involve simple operations requiring little or no skill or experience on the job.
(b) "Semi-skilled" work means work which involves some degree of skill of competence acquired through experience on the job and which is capable of being performed under the supervision or guidance of a skilled employee and includes unskilled supervisory workers.
(c) "Skilled works" is one which involves skill or competence acquired through experience on the job or through training as an apprentice in technical or vocational institute and the performance of which calls for initative and judgment.
(d) "Highly Skilled" work means work which call for a degree of perfection and full competence in performance of certain tasks acquired through intensive technical or professional training or practical works experience for long years and also requires of a work to assume full responsibility for the judgment or decisions involved in the execution of these tasks.
