Employees Provident Fund Scheme
The EPFO has issued a notification that amends Section 9(A) of the Employees Pension Scheme for the determination of the settlement of pension claims to workers of seasonal factories and establishments. It states that the contributory service for new entrants will be treated as eligible service, rounded off to the nearest year. In seasonal establishments operational for four months, for instance, if an employee has contributed for all four months, it shall be treated as a full year.

ESI (Central) Rules
Tamil Nadu: The districts of Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram will now be extended provisions detailed in Chapter IV (Contribution), Chapter V (Benefits), Chapter VI (Adjudication Of Disputes and Claims) of the Employees? State Insurance Act, 1948. This will be applicable from 1st September, 2022.

Delhi Shops and Establishments Rules
The Government of New Delhi has announced online services for the application of exemption under Delhi Shops and Establishments Act. The services, available from 8th August, can be availed through https://dlabourwelfareboard.delhi.gov.in/shopexemption/. This includes exemptions under Section 14 (Young persons and women to work during day time), Section 15 (Opening and closing hours of shops and commercial establishments), Section 16 (Close day).

The Ahmedabad Office of the EPFO has issued an SOP for settlement of PF Claims in the case of the death of an employee due to Industrial Accidents. This SOP directs processed and procedures to provide benefits to family members of the deceased.

The government of Uttar Pradesh has amended the earlier Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adishthan Niyamavali of 1963. The amendment now includes new provisions for registrations and licence renewal.
