NOTES:
1) Conversion of the monthly rate of wages into daily rates of wages and viceversa shall be worked out by dividing the monthly rates by 26 and by multiplying the daily rates by 26. 2) The proposed rates of minimum wages above include of the remuneration payable to the employee in respect of the day of rest in every period of seven days. 3) An employee shall for the work done on the weekly day of rest be entitled to overtime payment as the rate prescribed in rule 25 of the Bihar Minimum Wages Rule, 1951. 4) Men and women workers shall get the same rates of wages for the same work or a similar nature.
CATEGORIES:
(a) "Unskilled work" means work which involve simple operations requiring little or no skill or experience on the job. (b) "Semi-skilled" work means work which involves some degree of skill of competence acquired through experience on the job and which is capable of being performed under the supervision or guidance of a skilled employee and includes unskilled supervisory workers. (c) "Skilled works" is one which involves skill or competence acquired through experience on the job or through training as an apprentice in technical or vocational institute and the performance of which calls for initative and judgment. (d) "Highly Skilled" work means work which call for a degree of perfection and full competence in performance of certain tasks acquired through intensive technical or professional training or practical works experience for long years and also requires of a work to assume full responsibility for the judgment or decisions involved in the execution of these tasks.
